Interpreting the Qur'an by the Qur'an, with examples.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : As for the first, or the first level: an example of it is the saying of Allah, Blessed and Exalted is He:
(17) And what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense? (18) Then, what can make you know what is the Day of Recompense?
[Al-Infitar 82:17-18]
This is a question, so what is the answer?
It is the Day when a soul will not possess for another soul [power to do] a thing; and the command, that Day, is [entirely] with Allah.
[Al-Infitar 82:19]
And among that, meaning among interpreting the Qur'an by the words of Allah, is that a thing is mentioned and then its opposite is mentioned, so we know the interpretation of the opposite by the mention of what opposes it. And among that is His saying, the Exalted:
[either] go forth in companies or go forth all together.
[An-Nisa 4:71]
If someone asked you what is the meaning of "thibatan" (in groups)? We would say that what follows it interprets it, which is His saying:
or go forth all together.
[An-Nisa 4:71]
So the meaning of
So go forth in groups.
is individually, scattered,
or go forth all together.
[An-Nisa 4:71]
according to what the public interest requires in going out and departing for jihad.
