The questioner : What is the hadith regarding the virtue of frequently sending blessings upon the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) on the night of Friday or the day of Friday?
The Shaykh : The hadith is that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) encouraged frequent sending of blessings and peace upon him on Friday. It is well known that frequent sending of blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on any day of the week has great virtue, even if for no other reason than that it is obedience to the command of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), where He said:[Al-Ahzab 33:56] And it is fulfilling part of the right of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) over his Ummah, because his right over them is great, greater than the right of parents. For this reason, it is obligatory for us to prioritize his love over the love of parents, children, and all people, and even over the love of oneself.
Among the benefits is that a person is rewarded for it, for whoever sends blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), Allah sends blessings upon him ten times over. A good deed is multiplied tenfold up to seven hundred times. Furthermore, frequent sending of blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) necessitates frequent recollection of him in the heart, thereby increasing the man's faith in the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), his love for him, and his adherence to his guidance and Sunnah.
