The questioner : We are in a non-Islamic country where non-Muslims are numerous, and there have been debates between them and the Muslims. In these debates, a doubt was raised, which is that the People of the Book said: "You Muslims associate partners with Allah because you circumambulate the Ka'bah, which includes the Black Stone." This means that Muslims associate partners with Allah. The question is: How do we respond to this doubt, knowing that they refused to accept the texts at all?

The Shaykh : Yes. We respond to this doubt by stating that we circumambulate the Ka'bah not to honor the Ka'bah itself, but to honor Allah (Mighty and Majestic), because He is the Lord of the House. And Allah the Exalted said:
and purify My House for those who perform Tawaf and those who stand [in prayer] and those who bow and prostrate. وَطَهِّرْ بَيْتِيَ لِلطَّائِفِينَ وَالْقَائِمِينَ وَالرُّكَّعِ السُّجُودِ
[Al-Hajj 22:26]
Those who circumambulate the House do not ask the House to say: "O Ka'bah, fulfill our needs, forgive our sins, and have mercy on us forever." Rather, they call upon Allah (Mighty and Majestic), they remember Allah, and they ask Allah for forgiveness and mercy. This is unlike the Christians who worship the crosses, who worship the cross, bow to it, prostrate to it, and call upon it. And among their foolishness is that the cross, as they claim, is the one on which the Messiah, 'Isa ibn Maryam (peace be upon him), was crucified. How do they honor what was intended to torment their Prophet (peace be upon him)? And how do they honor it? But this is part of the misguidance and foolishness of the Christians. As for us Muslims, we do not believe that 'Isa (peace be upon him) was killed or crucified, because our Lord (Mighty and Majestic) says:
And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but [another] was made to resemble him to them وَمَا قَتَلُوهُ وَمَا صَلَبُوهُ وَلَكِنْ شُبِّهَ لَهُمْ
[An-Nisa 4:157]
And bring any Muslim who truly says that he circumambulates the Ka'bah in order to have his harm removed or to obtain what he asks for; you will not find anyone like that. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you, O Shaykh. The second question says the questioner.
