When images of Hajj in various parts of the world are broadcast on television channels, some Christians raise a doubt about Muslims in certain places, claiming that you claim tawhid (the oneness of Allah)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner: There are questions concerning... especially the da'wah (calling others to Islam)

The Shaykh : What is the doubt?

The questioner : The doubt is that, especially after television channels have broadcast images of Hajj and so on around the world, some Christians raise a doubt about Muslims in certain places, saying: "You claim tawhid (the oneness of Allah) while you circumambulate around stones and so on?"

The Shaykh : Yes, that is correct. Praise be to Allah. Every person who holds to falsehood must raise a doubt. We say: We did not circumambulate the Ka'bah except by the command of Allah. And if we circumambulate the Ka'bah, which is made of stones, by the command of Allah, this becomes the ultimate form of worship. This is because, generally, the soul does not submit except to something whose benefit it perceives physically. While there is no physical benefit in this, its spiritual benefit for the heart, the soul, and conduct is clear. So we say to them: "We did not circumambulate the Ka'bah, nor walk between al-Safa and al-Marwah, nor go out to the sacred sites except by the command of Allah. But where is your command from Allah?" We also say this to the grave-worshippers now. The grave-worshippers who claim Islam while they circumambulate graves raise this same doubt. It is easy, and the answer is easy, praise be to Allah. What do you think? Shall we postpone the questions because there are those who have issues? Yes, let us add five minutes as well. Yes.
