Is the addition of (those who repair what people have corrupted of my Sunnah...) in the hadith (Islam began as something foreign...) authentic?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : I do not want to lose what we had concluded with the doctor here regarding the interpretation of his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
Indeed, Islam began as something foreign and will return as something foreign, so blessed are the foreigners. They said: Who are they, O Messenger of Allah? He said: They are those who repair what people have corrupted of my Sunnah after me. إن الإسلام بدأ غريبا وسيعود غريبا فطوبى للغرباء ، قالوا: من هم يا رسول الله؟ قال: هم الذين يصلحون ما أفسد الناس من سنتي من بعدي
So I hope that we are all among those who repair what people have corrupted of his Sunnah after him; do you have anything, my brothers?

The questioner : I ask you to comment on this last addition
what the people have corrupted from my Sunnah ما أفسد الناس من سنتي
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2630Da'if (Darussalam)
Is it authentic?

The Shaykh : It is established, yes. It is not necessary for it to be classified as authentic in the technical scientific sense.

The questioner : Is it from the narration of Kathir ibn 'Abd Allah?

The Shaykh : It is only, may Allah forgive you, no. Kathir's narrations are very weak, yes.
