A married young man with two children who performs all acts of obedience, but who committed some major sins before marriage and repented after his marriage, and who considers his sins to be great, which has left him

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : A married young man with two children who prays, fasts, and knows Allah with true knowledge, but Satan—and I seek refuge in Allah from him—led him to commit some major sins, and this was before his marriage, even though he was performing prayer and fasting. He says: But after marriage, I stayed away from committing these sins and these transgressions, and I repented to Allah with a sincere repentance, and I became fearful of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), and I fulfill the obligatory duties and stay away from the forbidden. But I sit and hold myself accountable for the major sins and previous sins I committed, and I see them as great and very large, which has made my life one of fear and instability. I ask the honorable Shaykh to guide me: what should I do so that I feel that Allah (Mighty and Majestic) will be pleased with me? Knowing that I am between hope in Allah (Mighty and Majestic) and fear of His punishment, guide us, may you be rewarded.

The Shaykh : Yes. We guide you to read the saying of Allah the Exalted:
And those who do not invoke with Allah another deity or kill the soul which Allah has forbidden [to be killed], except by right, and do not commit unlawful sexual intercourse
[Al-Furqan 25:68]
These three sins are the greatest of sins in their respective categories. Associating partners with Allah is the greatest of sins in the rights of Allah, killing the soul is the greatest of sins in destroying souls, and unlawful sexual intercourse is the greatest of sins in violating honor. And regarding these three, Allah the Exalted said:
And whoever should do that will meet a penalty. (69) Multiplied for him is the punishment on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein humiliated - (70) Except for those who repent, believe and do righteous work. For them Allah will replace their evil deeds with good. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful.
[Al-Furqan 25:68-70]
And based on what we heard from the questioner’s question, he repented to Allah, believed, and did a righteous deed, and he remained steadfast upon the religion of Allah, and he experienced severe regret for his past actions. This is the reality of repentance.

The questioner : Good, good.

The Shaykh : And the righteous deed. So, on this basis, give him good news that Allah the Exalted will replace his bad deeds with good ones and forgive him the sin he committed, and he should not despair of the mercy of Allah, as Allah the Exalted said:
Say, "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful."
[Az-Zumar 39:53]
And I say to him: Be at ease, be stable, and let your heart be open to what has happened to you, for I hope that this will be the title of your happiness. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you, O honorable Shaykh, for your kindness in answering the questions of the honorable listeners.
