Does passing wind invalidate the ablution, and is ablution of the limbs alone sufficient or not?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Does passing wind invalidate the ablution? And is ablution of the limbs alone sufficient or not?

The Shaykh : And is it sufficient?

The questioner : Ablution of the limbs.

The Shaykh : Yes. Passing wind from the rear invalidates the ablution because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
If any of you has a pain in his abdomen, but is doubtful whether or not anything has issued from him, he should not leave the mosque unless he hears a sound or perceives a smell. إذا وجد أحدكم في بطنه شيئاً فأشكل عليه أخرج منه شيء أم لا، فلا يخرجن من المسجد حتى يسمع صوتاً أو يجد ريحاً
Mishkat al-Masabih 306
This is evidence that wind invalidates the ablution, and that is the case. If a person is certain that wind has passed from his rear, he must perform ablution. However, he is not required to perform istinja' (cleaning oneself after relieving oneself), which is washing the private parts, because nothing has occurred that would defile the private parts. It is sufficient for him to wash his face and hands, wipe his head, and wash his feet.
On this occasion, I would like to clarify that istinja' (cleaning oneself after relieving oneself) has no connection to ablution. Istinja' is intended to purify the place from the impurity that has defiled it, whether a person performs ablution or not. Based on this, if someone urinates at the beginning of the day and performs istinja', then the call to prayer for the midday prayer is made and he wants to perform ablution for prayer, he does not need to perform istinja' a second time. It is sufficient for him to wash his face and hands, wipe his head, and wash his feet. It is well known that washing the face includes rinsing the mouth and sniffing water into the nose, and that wiping the head includes the ears.
Some of the common people used to think that istinja' is linked to ablution, to the extent that if he urinates, for example, at the beginning of the day and then wants to perform ablution for the midday prayer, he would repeat the istinja' even if nothing had come out of him. This has no basis; it is ignorance. A person should learn from the rulings of his religion what is necessary to establish the rituals of Allah. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah bless you. The listener is Fathi Muhammad, an Egyptian resident in the Kingdom. He asks, and in his first question he says:
