Passing wind invalidates the ablution

Machine translationRead the Arabic original

The second question of Fatwa number (11269)

Q 2: Does the smell require istinja' (cleaning) or istijmar (cleaning with dry material) afterwards, and does it invalidate the wudu'? What is the ruling on one who prayed after a smell had emerged from him after his wudu'? Is his prayer valid? Some people say it does not invalidate the wudu'. Please inform us, may you be rewarded.
A 2: Praise be to Allah alone, and blessings and peace be upon His Messenger, his family, and his Companions... And after: Passing wind invalidates the wudu', but it does not require istinja' or istijmar. If one prayed after passing wind, he must perform wudu' and repeat the prayer, because his prayer is not valid.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his Companions.
