Is it permissible to pray in clothes full of blood?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Yes, yes.

The questioner : Peace be upon you

The Shaykh : And upon you be peace

The questioner: May Allah reward you for your question, my dear brother.

The Shaykh : Please go ahead.

The questioner: I work as a butcher.

The Shaykh : Yes.

The questioner: And my clothes get stained with blood, and a lot of blood at that.

The Shaykh : Ah

The questioner: Do I pray in them, or do I go change them? Because I asked two shaykhs, and one said, "Pray in them," and the other said, "No, don't pray, go change," ... what is best?

The Shaykh: What is best? Where do you want to pray?

The questioner: I live in Jabal al-Nasr.

The Shaykh: Where do you want to pray?

The questioner: Here, I want to pray the midday prayer.

The Shaykh: Where do you want to pray? Where? At your place, in your house, in the mosque? Where do you want to pray?

The questioner: In the mosque.

The Shaykh: In the mosque?

The questioner: The one close to me.

The Shaykh: Good. So, as I told you, the one who gave you the fatwa said that you should change your clothes. And you must have a cloak at your workplace to take off the blood-stained clothes and put on the cloak, and then go to the mosque. And when you return from the mosque, you take off the cloak and put on your butchering clothes. As for going to the mosque in blood-stained clothes with the smell of blood and meat, this causes harm to the believers. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) warned the worshippers against harming one another with less than this harm. He said (peace and blessings be upon him)
O people, each of you is conversing with his Lord, so let not some of you raise his voice over others in recitation, thereby harming the believers. يا أيها الناس كلكم يناجي ربه فلا يجهر بعضكم على بعض بالقراءة فتؤذوا المؤمنين
meaning, people are either praying the voluntary prayer, or reciting the Qur'an, or sending blessings upon the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). One of them raises his voice when reciting, which disturbs those around him and harms them. So the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade him from raising his voice in the Qur'an because it harms the believers. Do you think the harm from reciting the Qur'an is greater, or the harm from the butcher with the blood? There is no doubt that this is a greater harm. Therefore, you must have a cloak or a clean garment specifically for wearing when you go to pray in the mosque. You take off the blood-stained clothes, and then you return and put them on. This is what is obligatory upon you.

The questioner: Well, my master, the distance is far. It takes me about half an hour to go change and come back.

The Shaykh: That is another matter. Why did I ask you where you want to pray?

The questioner: The mosque is right next to me. Well, what if I want to pray in the same place or at my neighbors' place?

The Shaykh: Since you are saying the mosque is next to you.

The questioner: The mosque is next to me. I don't want to waste half an hour on Jabal al-Nasr and then come back.

The Shaykh: Listen, my brother, may Allah guide you. The mosque is next to you, next to the house, or next to you at the butchery?

The questioner: Next to the shop, next to the meat.

The Shaykh: Yes, I am telling you, may Allah guide you, put a cloak in the shop.

The questioner: We will put a cloak.

The Shaykh: Yes, and why are you saying it is a half-hour distance?

The questioner: Okay, if it is just light work, but light work comes up that does not harm anyone.

The Shaykh: The important thing, my dear, is that you do not harm the believers with the bad smell and the ugly appearance. So if there is one or two spots, there is no harm, there is no prohibition. The operative cause is the harm. So you know if your clothes are stained in a way that causes harm, then the answer is what you heard. And if it is just a drop or two, then there is no harm on you. You go to the mosque and pray. And peace be upon you.

The questioner: Okay, my master, may Allah bless you.

The Shaykh: May Allah preserve you. You are welcome.

The questioner: Of course, the world is three parts, and work can be long for a person. I was busy with my work, and the call to prayer was made, but I did not go to pray, and the midday prayer passed me by.

The Shaykh: If it was not possible, it is not permissible except that you pray with the congregation of the Muslims. Even if you said to the customer, "Please come back to me in a quarter of an hour, I am going now to catch the prayer." And peace be upon you.

The questioner: Well, what if the prayer passed me and I could not?

The Shaykh: But, my brother, how many questions do you want to ask? We are allowing people one question. You have now asked three questions.

The questioner : May Allah bless you

The Shaykh: Save your question for tomorrow, if Allah wills. And peace be upon you.

The questioner : And upon you be peace
