Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : He says that he jokes a lot with his friends and brothers on trips and at gatherings, and that he is known for this behavior. Does this bring him sin?

The Shaykh : If this joking is genuine, in that it contains no lying and no mocking of anyone, but is merely fun intended to cheer up his brothers and companions, then there is nothing wrong with it.

The questioner : Very well.

The Shaykh : In fact, he may even be rewarded for it if his intention is good, such as intending to dispel boredom among his brothers and bring them joy. However, if it contains lying or mocking of anyone, it is not permissible, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Woe to him who lies in his talk to make the people laugh, Woe to him! Woe to him! ويل لمن حدّث فكذب ليُضحك به القوم، ويل له ثم ويل له
Bulugh al-Maram 16:80
.
As for mocking, it is also forbidden, because the blood, wealth, and honor of a Muslim are forbidden to another Muslim, and mocking him is one of the greatest violations of his brother's honor. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah bless you. The listener Rashedi from Egypt says.
