Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Is it permissible for me to give all of my zakah to a young man who wants to get married so that I can help him...

The Shaykh : "Young man" in the accusative case

The questioner : To a young man, that I give my zakah to a young man who wants to get married so that I can help him with this matter?

The Shaykh : Yes, it is permissible for a person to give his zakah to a young man or someone other than a young man, to a person who needs to get married and does not have what to pay as a mahr (bridal gift). It is permissible to give him what he needs to help him with the mahr, whether it is a small amount or a large amount. But if we give this young man and he gets married, and one wife is not enough for him and he wants another wife, do we give him? Yes, if it is for the sake of desire, we do not give him. But if it is out of necessity, and the first wife does not satisfy him, then we give him. Because the purpose of zakah is to meet the needs of those in need, and there is no doubt that a person's need for marriage is one of the most severe types of need. Now, I will add another question to this: If we find a student of knowledge whose affairs are going well, meaning he has food, drink, clothing, and shelter, but he needs books of knowledge that he can benefit from, and he does not have what to buy them with, do we buy them for him?
The student: ...

The Shaykh : Now, if we find a person who is dozing off, do we sprinkle water on him? Yes, do we sprinkle? Now, rest, rest, and pay attention. Now, yes, let's go.
