Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A person deposited a sum of money with the Islamic House of Money two years ago, amounting to four thousand riyals, and a lunar year has passed over it. There is no doubt that he owes zakah, but he is saving this money?

The Shaykh: Repeat..

The student: A person deposited a sum of money with the Islamic House of Money two years ago, amounting to four thousand riyals, and a lunar year has passed over it. There is no doubt that he owes zakah in this case. However, if this person is about to get married soon and has a pressing need for the money to pay the bridal gift for his marriage, does he have to pay the zakah in this situation?

Answer:
Yes... and marriage is one of the causes of blessing and success in marriage—if Allah wills—for the one who saves money to get married, or to buy a house, or who has a debt, and then a lunar year passes over it, and he has not yet bought or married, he pays the zakah. Zakah is all blessing, all purification, all good.
