Allah’s Protection and Defense of Whom He Wills Among His Servants

The Shaykh : We have come to know through this calamity the protection of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) and the defense of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) for whom He wills among His servants. We had expected that this war would be fierce, that much wealth would be destroyed by it, and that many lives would be lost. But the matter turned out, praise be to Allah, to be the least of what could be estimated, is that not so? This was not by our power or strength, but by the mercy of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), who showed mercy to the Ummah and the issue was resolved quickly. No destruction or loss occurred beyond the least that could be imagined. Even if we had been told that the matter would be resolved with such speed, we would have said that this was an illusion that could not be realized. But Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He), by His mercy, realized it.
