The Shaykh : And among its blessings is the great knowledge that this Islamic community attained through it, along with the noble effects. Indeed, this Islamic community was, before the revelation of the Qur'an, in clear error, in blind ignorance, in humiliation, and in weakness. When the Qur'an was revealed and they took it upon themselves, they surpassed the nations in every aspect, as Allah the Exalted said:

Certainly did Allah confer [great] favor upon the believers when He sent among them a Messenger from themselves, reciting to them His verses and purifying them and teaching them the Book and wisdom, although they had been before in manifest error.

لقد من الله على المؤمنين إذ بعث فيهم رسولاً من أنفسهم يتلو عليهم آياته ويزكيهم ويعلمهم الكتاب والحكمة وإن كانوا من قبل لفي ضلال مبين

[Ali 'Imran 3:164]

It is He who has sent among the unlettered a Messenger from themselves reciting to them His verses and purifying them and teaching them the Book and wisdom - although they were before in clear error -

هو الذي بعث في الأميين رسولاً منهم يتلوا عليهم آياته ويزكيهم ويعلمهم الكتاب والحكمة وإن كانوا من قبل لفي ضلال مبين
