The Meaning of the Saying of Allah the Exalted: "And fear Allah"

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :
And fear Allah واتقوا الله
And taqwa (mindfulness of Allah) is derived from the word for protection, meaning that a person does what protects him from the punishment of Allah. So, my brother, what is taqwa? I mean, "fear Allah"—what is taqwa? What is it? Where did you go? Rest.
Taqwa is for a person to take protection from the punishment of Allah. And how is protection from the punishment of Allah achieved? It is achieved by doing the commands of Allah and avoiding the prohibitions of Allah, Mighty and Majestic. Therefore, it encompasses the entire religion, because the religion consists of commands and prohibitions. Doing the commands is obedience to Allah, and leaving the prohibitions is obedience to Allah, and both are taqwa to Allah, Mighty and Majestic. So, taqwa in the general sense is taking protection from the punishment of Allah by doing His commands and avoiding His prohibitions. Among the prohibitions of Allah is that we do not put anything before Allah and His Messenger.
