The Fruits of Faith in the Name of Allah, "The All-Hearing," and the Attribute of Hearing

The Shaykh : When you believe in this, what happens to you in terms of behavior and methodology? Without a doubt, you will fear Allah in what you say, because if you believe that Allah hears everything you say, you will not let your Lord hear anything but what pleases Allah. As long as you believe that if you say something obscene, Allah hears it; if you say the truth, Allah hears it; if you say falsehood, Allah hears it; if you say something good, Allah hears it—then you will choose from your speech what is good and excellent, and you will not let your Lord (Mighty and Majestic) hear what He does not like. Therefore, without a doubt, the person who believes in the implications of the Names and Attributes of Allah will experience a change in his life and good behavior that is pleasing to Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He). But unfortunately, we read the Names and Attributes of Allah, yet we do not understand their meanings, nor do we feel the impact of their implications.
