Benefits: Concerning the Affirmation of the Attribute of Hearing for Allah (Mighty and Majestic)

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Here, it is established that Allah the Exalted hears with a real hearing, because He said, "He has heard," and "Allah hears." If the intended meaning were knowledge, it would not be valid, because the knowledge of Allah the Exalted was prior to this. This indicates that Allah's hearing is connected to this woman in her current state, as He said:
And Allah hears والله يسمع
"And He hears" is a present-tense verb, which indicates the current state.
And Allah hears your dialogue; indeed, Allah is Hearing and Seeing. والله يسمع تحاوركما إن الله سميع بصير
[Al-Mujadila 58:1]
This sentence serves as an explanation for what came before it. From this, the people of the Sunnah derived that if a name is transitive, faith in it is not complete unless one affirms it, affirms the attribute it indicates, and affirms the ruling. Here, the name is
because Allah is Hearing and Seeing. إن الله سميع بصير
[Al-Hajj 22:61]
If you believe that Allah hears every word we say, this obligates us not to say a word that does not please Allah. For if, to give the highest analogy, your father does not like to hear from you what he does not like, you try not to let him hear from you what he does not like; so your Lord is more deserving and greater that you not let Him hear from you what He does not like.
