The Ruling on Swearing by the Qur'an

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Now, if someone were to say, "Swearing by the Qur'an is swearing by other than Allah, and you say that it is permissible for a person to swear by the Qur'an, saying, 'By the Qur'an, I did not do such-and-such,' or 'By the Qur'an, I will certainly do such-and-such,'" the answer is that the Qur'an is the speech of Allah, and the speech of Allah is one of His attributes. It is permissible to swear by the attributes of Allah the Exalted, just as it is permissible to swear by the essence of Allah, Mighty and Majestic.
