The meaning of the poet's saying: "They took hold of your forelocks with it and your beards *** So you became a drag, in humiliation and disgrace"

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"They took hold of your forelocks with it and your beards *** So you became a drag, in humiliation and disgrace"
"They took hold of your forelocks with it and your beards"
"Lahaa" is the plural of "lihyah" (beard), meaning they held one by the forelock and the other by the beard and dragged him, leading him. Why? Because they wanted to, and they caused him to fall into destruction, may Allah protect us from that.
"You spoke with their words and you aimed to break them *** How, when they have locked up the proof for you"
Yes, meaning that you spoke with their words, and then you claimed that you intended to break them with this.
"Ramtum" means you intended to break them. This is why the people of ta'til (denial of the divine attributes) claim to be at war with the philosophers, while in reality they agree with them in some respects.
The people of ta'til (denial of the divine attributes) denied the Essence and the Attributes. They denied the Attributes either entirely or partially, while the righteous Salaf affirmed the Essence and affirmed the Attributes.
"And you broke the door behind which *** Are the enemies of the Messengers of Allah and faith"
Yes, the author said: "... and you aimed to break it *** How" meaning how can you break them "when they have locked up the proof for you"
And the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
A pledge does not become lost to its owner لا يغلق الرهن من صاحبه
Bulugh al-Maram 7:97
But they took you as a pledge, locking you up with it, so you became unable to act as you please.
