(Referring to the two Sahihs as Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim, and explaining the Sunnah principle:

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :"And take the two Sahihs" means, after the Qur'an, take the two Sahihs, meaning Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim.
"Which are the two pillars for establishing religion and faith
And read them after purifying yourself from desire, bias, and Satan’s zeal."

Read the two Sahihs free from desire, zeal, and bias. This is obligatory for everyone who reads evidence to free themselves from desire and bias so that they judge by what the evidence indicates. For this reason, it is said: "Seek evidence, then believe, then act." Do not believe first and then seek evidence, because if you believe first and then seek evidence, you may lean toward your belief and twist the texts of the Book and the Sunnah to fit it. But if you seek evidence first, read the evidence, and then build your belief and action upon it, then your path will be correct. He says:
"And read them after purifying yourself from desire, bias, and Satan’s zeal."
