The Error in the Method of One Who Holds a Belief and Then Seeks Evidence

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : And here is a matter I would like to point out, which is that some people hold a belief and then seek evidence after holding that belief. This is an error and a harm to the person, because if you hold a belief and then seek evidence, your belief will overpower you, causing you to twist the necks of the texts to match what? Your belief. But make your belief a follower; first, search the texts, contemplate them, and reflect upon them.
Do they not then reflect upon the Qur'an أفلا يتدرون القرآن
Reflect upon them first, and then, once the truth becomes clear to you from them, build your belief upon it, based on what has become clear to you, so that you may be guided, by the permission of Allah (Mighty and Majestic). Some people have said to me that it is good for us to speak about declaring a specific person a disbeliever, declaring a specific person a disbeliever. And this, if Allah wills, we will speak about.
