The reader: ... O Shaykh.
The Shaykh : Yes.
The reciter: In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Bestower of Mercy.
A chapter on the mockery of the people of the Sunnah and faith in the religion by those who declare others disbelievers, like the play of children
How much you play with the religion and *** faith, like the play of children
Your hearts have waned as your intellects have waned, *** so you do not purify yourselves by the Qur'an
How much you say, "general and specific," *** and you isolate the apparent meanings from certainty
Until when you see the men coming to you, *** then listen to what is revealed without proof
Like the bats, when the light of day comes to them, *** they are in the holes of the walls
Blind to the illuminating sun, unable *** to fly with guidance in it
Until when the darkness of night comes, *** they roam in its darkness in every place
So you see the monotheist when he hears their words, *** and sees them in tribulation and humiliation
And woe to his eye and his ear, *** O tribulation of the two eyes and the two ears
If he speaks the truth, they declare him a disbeliever, and if he says *** a falsehood, they attribute it to faith
Until when he refutes them, they become hostile to him, *** like the hostility of Satan to man
They said to him, "You have contradicted the sayings of the *** Shaykhs," and they did not care about the later generations for the Criterion
You have contradicted the sayings of the Shaykhs, so you *** have contradicted the one who came with the Qur'an
You have contradicted the saying of the Messenger, and I only *** contradicted the one whose saying followed that of so-and-so
How excellent is that disagreement, for it is *** the very essence of agreement in obedience to the Most Merciful
