The Shaykh : ... And in my heart, I also wanted to remind you of a matter that I personally was long unaware of, as you can see, and I have reached the extreme of old age, so what about the rest of you, the young people who are growing up? It is even more so, and even more so. All of you know the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) Jami` at-Tirmidhi 3459Sahih (Darussalam) There are two narrations The hadith is authentic and it is one of those agreed upon by al-Bukhari and Muslim. The Shaykh : It is from the hadith of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), but the thing we discovered, which we were not acting upon, is the condition or Sahih al-Bukhari 3303 and also . This condition is very subtle, because the reality, as I told some of my brothers today, is that when I applied the hadith in its generality, I would ask myself in my heart: when will this matter end, especially for someone like me who has chickens and a rooster day and night? Then I would answer myself with my own self. First, the self that commands evil speaks: what does this mean? Every time it crows, “O Allah, I ask You for Your bounty. O Allah, I ask You for Your bounty.” So I would respond to my self with my intellect and my faith, saying: Our Lord, Mighty and Majestic, says [An-Nisa 4:65] If that is the case with the hadith, then welcome to it; let us increase in asking Allah, Mighty and Majestic, for His bounty.
when you hear the crowing of the roosters, then ask Allah of His bounty, for verily they have seen an angel. When you hear the braying of a donkey, then seek refuge in Allah from Shaitan, [the rejected] for, verily, it has seen a Shaitan.
