His second question asks whether slaughtering the white rooster is lawful or forbidden in Islam, because it is said that when the rooster crows, it glorifies Allah and says, "Remember Allah, O you who are heedless."

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : His second question asks whether slaughtering the white rooster is lawful or forbidden in Islam, because it is said that when the rooster crows, it glorifies Allah and says, "Remember Allah, O you who are heedless?"

The Shaykh : The white rooster, and the non-white rooster, are among the livestock that Allah (Mighty and Majestic) has made lawful, so it is permissible to slaughter it, and there is no blame in doing so. As for the fact that it glorifies Allah when it crows, this applies to it and to others; there is nothing in the heavens or on the earth that does not glorify the praise of Allah, but you do not understand their glorification, as Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) said.

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : When one hears the crowing of roosters, he should ask Allah for His bounty, as commanded by the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).

The questioner : O Allah, send blessings and peace upon him.

The Shaykh : Because she saw an angel, so when she hears the crowing of the white rooster or any other, it is prescribed that she ask Allah for His bounty.
