The Ruling on Making Du'a When the Rooster Crows

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Our sister asks and says: Is du'a answered when the rooster crows?

Answer:
It is prescribed for us, when we hear the rooster crow, to ask Allah for His bounty. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you hear the rooster crow, ask Allah for His bounty, for it has seen an angel." And when you hear the donkey bray and the dog bark, a person should seek refuge in Allah from Shaytan, for it has seen a Shaytan. This is what is commanded.
It is hoped that the du'a will be answered in this case, but I do not know of any explicit statement that the du'a is answered. However, the command of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in this matter indicates that it is likely to be answered; because one has obeyed the command of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). So if he says, "O Allah, forgive me," or "O Allah, give me from Your bounty," or "O Allah, admit me to Paradise" upon hearing the sound of the rooster, good is hoped for him; because he obeyed the command of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). For the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
When you hear the crowing of roosters, ask for Allah's Blessings for (their crowing indicates that) they have seen an angel. And when you hear the braying of donkeysإذا سمعتم صياح الديكة فاسألوا الله من فضله، فإنها رأت ملكًا، وإذا سمعتم نهيق الحمر
Sahih al-Bukhari 3303
-And in the other wording:
Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as say- ing. When you listen to the crowing of the cock, ask Allah for His favour as it sees Angels and when you listen to the braying of the donkey, seek refuge in Allah from the Satan for it sees Satan.ونباح الكلاب- فتعوذوا بالله من الشيطان، فإنها رأت شيطانًا
Sahih Muslim 2729
Yes.

The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
