Al-Halabi : The brother here says:The questioner : The scholars differed in explaining his saying (peace and blessings be upon him) in describing his Lord (Exalted and Majestic is He) Some said it means dominion and subjugation, and some said it means He is the One who is known. So what is your view?
The Shaykh : We have nothing more than the verse; the verse is clear.
Al-Halabi : And the hadith that came to explain it:
The Shaykh : This is more than that; we do not have [a term] like “the Subjugator.”
Al-Halabi That is, “there is nothing above Him.” In light of the Salafi creed, we understand it well. How do we understand “there is nothing below Him”?
The Shaykh : Nothing escapes Him.
Al-Halabi : May Allah reward you with good.
The Shaykh : And beware of that.
He is the Apparent, so there is nothing above Him, and He is the Hidden, so there is nothing below Him
