What is the ruling on performing wudu' inside the restrooms?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : What is the ruling on performing wudu' inside the restrooms?

The Shaykh : There is nothing wrong with a person performing wudu' inside the restrooms, but there is a difficulty with this: the invocation is prescribed in wudu', either as obligatory or as recommended. So how does he invoke while he is inside the restroom?
We say: he invokes either in his heart without speaking it aloud, or he speaks it aloud. The scholars who said that it is disliked to mention the name of Allah inside the restrooms say that in this case he invokes in his heart and is content with that invocation.
Moreover, according to the stronger position, the invocation is not obligatory; rather, it is a recommended practice. If a person performs it, his wudu' is more complete, and if he does not perform it, his wudu' is valid and there is no blame on him.

The questioner : Thank you, O honorable Shaykh, and may Allah magnify your reward for what you have explained to us in this week's session.
