The Ruling on the Prayer of a Person Standing Alone Behind the Rows

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q430: The questioner asks: What is the ruling on a person praying alone behind the rows when there are no others present?
A430: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
There is no prayer for a single person behind the rowلا صلاة لفرد خلف الصف
Sahih Ibn Hibban 10:489
And when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a man praying alone behind the rows, he ordered him to repeat the prayer. Therefore, it is not permissible for a person to pray alone behind the rows; rather, he must either join the row, or if he finds a place to the right of the imam, and he knows that someone will come to stand with him, he should wait.
