Is it valid to convey the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) greeting to one who entrusted him with it in his land?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : May Allah reward you. My neighbor asks and says: Is it valid to convey the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) greeting, as if his brother entrusted him to say to him, "Greet the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him)"?

The Shaykh : This is strange. Does anyone do that?

The questioner : Yes, many of the enthusiasts do.

The Shaykh : Many reply with a piece of paper.

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : Yes, and the Messenger writes a reply or what?

The questioner : ... .

The Shaykh : May Allah bless you, may Allah bless you. If you greet the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) in any place on earth, your greeting reaches him; the angels carry it to the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). The carrying by the angels is better than the carrying by humans, without doubt. Then, this is a religious innovation. Where were the Companions regarding this practice? Did the Companions entrust one another with a stick, saying, "When you reach Madinah, greet the Messenger for me"? No, no one did this, because they were more sensible than to do so, as long as the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Greet me, for your greeting reaches me wherever you are. سلموا علي فإن تسليمكم يبلغني أين كنتم
Why would this man entrust [someone] with this? But if he wants to convey this greeting to the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) and finds him sitting in the mosque conversing with the Companions, let him carry it. And is this possible or not?
The student: It is not possible.

The Shaykh : Is it possible to find the Messenger now sitting conversing with the Companions? It is not possible. So, conveying the greeting through a living person is only for the living. As for the words of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), as for greeting the Messenger after his death, the angels convey it. Yes.
