Is it permissible to swear by the Book of Allah?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : He says:The questioner : Is it permissible to swear by the Book of Allah?

The Shaykh : What?

The questioner : Swearing by the Book of Allah.

The Shaykh : Yes, it is permissible to swear by the Book of Allah if one intends the Qur'an. However, if one intends the mushaf, which is created paper that has been made, then it is not permissible. This is because swearing by other than Allah is shirk (associating partners with Allah), as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever swears by other than Allah has committed kufr (disbelief) or shirk (associating partners with Allah)." But if one intends the Qur'an, there is nothing wrong with it. Why? Because the Qur'an is the speech of Allah, and the speech of Allah is one of His attributes. And it is permissible to swear by the attributes of Allah. Yes.
