The ruling on one who misses a prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : As for a prayer other than Jumu'ah, if a person sleeps and does not wake up, and there is no one with him to wake him, so he does not notice until the time has passed, then it is valid; he prays it and his prayer is valid. This is because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Whoever sleeps through a prayer or forgets it, let him pray it من نام عن صلاة أو نسيها فليصلها
Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah 36:48
When?
When he remembers it إذا ذكرها
This is in the case of forgetting, meaning, and if he wakes up, this is in a state of consciousness. For this reason, when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and his Companions slept through the Fajr prayer while traveling, and they did not wake up until the sun had risen, he prayed it and did not leave it. But if one delays the prayer intentionally from its time without a valid legal excuse, is the prayer valid? No, this is you.
The student: The prayer is not valid.

The Shaykh : It is not valid, as your brother said. Well, rest. What is the evidence? The evidence is the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
He who did any act for which there is no sanction from our behalf, that is to be rejected. من عمل عملا ليس عليه أمرنا فهو رد
Sahih Muslim 1718b
And the one who delays the prayer from its time without an excuse has done a deed for which there is no command from Allah and His Messenger, so his deed is rejected. Also, it is possible to cite as evidence His saying, the Exalted:
And whoever transgresses the limits of Allah - it is those who are the wrongdoers. ومن يتعد حدود الله فأولئك هم الظالمون
[Al-Baqarah 2:229]
And the one who takes the prayer out of its time without an excuse has transgressed the limits of Allah, so he is an oppressor, and the oppressor is not accepted from him; indeed, the oppressors do not succeed.
