Discussion of the etiquettes of the greeting of peace, and clarification of its ruling and its benefits

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : Regarding an important issue. Now, this important, significant, and great issue is the greeting of peace, people greeting one another. Is it a recommended practice, or is it forbidden, or is it disliked? Please, come up.
The student: It is a recommended practice.

The Shaykh : A recommended practice. So, if you meet someone, do you greet them or not?
The student: I greet them.

The Shaykh : You greet them. May Allah bless you. Rest now. The amazing thing is that now you greet some people when leaving the mosque or entering it, and they disapprove, turning around and asking, "What is this?" As if the greeting of peace between Muslims was not prescribed. Is that not so? Have you not realized this, my brothers? I have realized it. When I greet someone, they disapprove, asking, "What is this one doing by greeting?" As if he is not in the land of Muslims, even though the greeting of peace has great virtues, among which is that it is a cause for entering Paradise. The evidence for this is the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
By the One in Whose Hand is my soul! You will not enter Paradise until you believe والله أو قال والذي نفسي بيده لا تدخلوا الجنة حتى تؤمنوا
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2510Da'if (Darussalam)
Complete the hadith. Complete it. Come up. You do not know the hadith? This is important. Who can complete the hadith?
By the One in Whose Hand is my soul! You will not enter Paradise until you believe والله أو والذي نفسي بيده لا تدخلوا الجنة حتى تؤمنوا
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2510Da'if (Darussalam)
