Is it permissible to supplicate with "May Allah prolong your life," and is it true that Allah does not answer such a supplication?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : May Allah reward you. A questioner asks: about the supplication, which is "May Allah prolong your life", because some people told him that this is a supplication that is not answered?

The Shaykh : As for it not being answered, that is with Allah (Mighty and Majestic). And Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) says:
And your Lord says, "Call upon Me; I will respond to you." وَقَالَ رَبُّكُمُ ادْعُونِي أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ
[Ghafir 40:60]
But it is not befitting to supplicate for a long life unless it is qualified, saying: "May Allah prolong your life in His obedience." Because a long life may be a harm to the one who lives, and the worst of people is the one whose life is prolonged and whose deeds are bad. So, let the one whose life is prolonged and whose deeds are bad rest. It may be that a man's long life is worse than his death. For this reason, you should say, "May Allah prolong your life in His obedience."
