The questioner : What are the places where supplication is answered? And what are the locations likewise? And what are the etiquettes of supplication?
The Shaykh : Among the times when supplication is answered is the end of the night, and on Friday there is an hour in which no Muslim servant who asks Allah for something while standing in prayer will be denied it by Allah, and on the evening of the Day of 'Arafah, meaning at the end of the day, and between the adhan and the iqamah.
And among the places where supplication is answered is when a person is in prostration, for the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Bulugh al-Maram 2:179.
And despite this, a person should be persistent with Allah (Mighty and Majestic) in supplication at all times, so that he may perhaps encounter a breath from the breaths of Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) by which he will be happy in this world and the Hereafter.
As for the etiquettes of supplication, they are many: the most important of them, indeed the most important, is sincerity to Allah (Mighty and Majestic), such that a person is certain in his heart during supplication that he is calling upon a near, responsive deity. And among them is avoiding the forbidden in food, for eating the forbidden and nourishing oneself with it is among the causes that prevent the answering of supplication, as that came in the hadith from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), where he said: Indeed, Allah is Good and accepts nothing but what is good. And Allah commanded the believers with what He commanded the messengers, saying: "O you who believe, eat from the good things We have provided for you and be grateful to Allah if it is Him you worship." And He said: "O messengers, eat from the good things and do righteous deeds. Indeed, I am, of what you do, Knowing." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned a man who travels a long distance, disheveled and covered in dust, stretching his hands to the sky: "O my Lord," while his food is forbidden, his clothing is forbidden, and he is nourished by the forbidden. So how will it be answered? So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) considered it unlikely that supplication would be answered for this man whose food is forbidden, whose clothing is forbidden, and who is nourished by the forbidden.
And among the etiquettes of supplication is that a person raises his hands, except in the places where the Sunnah indicates that there is no raising. And among the etiquettes of supplication is that a person calls upon his Lord while having a great hope that Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) will answer his supplication.
We ask Allah to guide us, our brothers, and the Muslims to what is good, and to answer our supplication with what benefits us.

I have been forbidden to recite the Qur'an while bowing or prostrating; so while in the bowing (position) glorify (the Perfection of) the Rabb (Lord), and while in the prostrating (position) be earnest in supplication, for it is fitting that your supplications may be answered.
