What is the ruling on one who prays alone behind the row in the funeral prayer?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : In the name of Allah, and praise is due to Allah. A questioner says: “O honorable Shaykh, is it permissible to pray the funeral prayer while I am alone in the row?”

The Shaykh : Yes, the congregational funeral prayer, like other prayers, if the worshippers are in a congregation, then it is necessary to form rows; that is, a person must pray in a row. If he prays alone, his prayer is invalid due to the generality of the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
The prayer of a person who prays alone behind the row is not accepted. لا صلاة لمنفرد خلف الصف
Bulugh al-Maram 2:327

And it is astonishing that in the two noble mosques, al-Masjid al-Haram and al-Masjid al-Nabawi, there are people who, when the funeral is brought, rush from their places in the rows, pushing and shoving until they are close to the imam. Then they do not form the required row; you find some of them standing alone in a row. This does not make their prayer valid; their prayer is invalid. The rows in the congregational funeral prayer are like the rows in the congregational five daily prayers. Then why do we advance and crowd to be near the imam? There is no basis for this. Each person should stand in his place in the row. When the funeral is brought, those carrying it are the ones who should be around the imam to facilitate carrying it after the prayer. As for this pushing and shoving, there is no basis for it; that is, severe pushing and crowding without forming rows. We ask Allah for guidance for everyone. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.
