The Shaykh : As for the end of Surat al-Tawbah, Allah the Exalted said: [At-Tawbah 9:128] Brother, my brother, yes, I am just asking you an easy question [At-Tawbah 9:128] Who is the Messenger?
The student: ...
The Shaykh : Who is meant by the Messenger here? Who is meant by the Messenger?
The student: The one meant, the one meant is a Prophet.
The Shaykh : ... Who is it? Who is it? Shu'ayb? Hud? Salih?
The student: Muhammad.
The Shaykh : Well done, may Allah bless you. You now have knowledge, my brother, and you say you have no knowledge. Be certain. May Allah bless you. Good.[At-Tawbah 9:128] Who is meant by the Messenger? Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). From among you, meaning from you, not a stranger to you. You know him, you know his trustworthiness, you know his truthfulness, you know his sincere advice, until Muhammad became the Messenger of Allah.
There has certainly come to you a Messenger from among yourselves. Grievous to him is what you suffer; [he is] concerned over you and to the believers is kind and merciful.
