The meaning of the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "And a man to whom a woman of high status and beauty made an offer, and he said, 'I fear Allah.'"

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :
a man whom a beautiful woman of high rank seduces (for illicit relation), but he (rejects this offer by saying):" I fear Allah" ورجل دعته امرأة ذات منصب وجمال فقال إني أخاف الله
Sahih Muslim 1031a
This is the witness: a woman of high status and beauty made an offer to him. This means a beautiful woman, a noble woman, not one of the lowly women, but a noble woman of high status and beauty. So what did he say? He said, "I fear Allah." This phrase, "I fear Allah," indicates that this woman made the offer to him in a place where no one else was present with them. Otherwise, he would have said, "Get up, get up, my brother, the question is coming." This is, glory be to Allah, a response to the mu'adhdhin. Respond to the mu'adhdhin. Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, La ilaha illa Allah. O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad. O Allah, Lord of this perfect call and this established prayer, grant Muhammad the intercession and the high rank, and raise him to the Praiseworthy Station that You have promised him. Indeed, You do not break Your promise. O Allah, forgive me and the believers on the Day when the Reckoning stands. I say that his statement, "I fear Allah," indicates that this man desires women. If he had no desire, he would have said, "I have no desire." I say that his statement, "I fear Allah," indicates that he desires women, because if he had no desire, he would have said, "I have no desire." His statement, "I fear Allah," also indicates that he was in an empty place, because if there had been someone else with them, he would have said, "I fear that people will find out." So the only thing that prevented him from committing this sin was one thing: the fear of Allah (Mighty and Majestic). Look at the perfection of his chastity, even though the matter was made easy for him. The place was empty, the man had desire, and the woman was of high status and beauty, but he left it because he feared Allah. I only brought up this hadith to indicate that if Allah the Exalted makes the means of sin easy for you, then beware, beware, because it may be a test and a trial. For a person may leave a sin when its means are made difficult for him, not out of fear of Allah, but because he is tired and fed up. But if the means are made easy and he leaves it for the sake of Allah, then that is the one who truly worships Allah.
