The Shaykh : He said: [Yunus 10:9] O Allah, make us among them.
The student: Amen.
The Shaykh :[Al-Baqarah 2:62] That is, they believed in what is obligatory to believe in. No one is clearer in explanation or more truthful in explanation than the explanation of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family). What did he explain faith to be? Say. What is faith? I am asking you, just answer. Gabriel asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) what is faith? - Be patient, my brother - What did the Messenger say? - Rest. Stand up, may Allah bless you -. Gabriel asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) what is faith? So what did he say? How many pillars of faith are there? Here, six. Say them. That you believe in Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers, the Last Day, and the divine decree, its good and its evil. Well done, rest. So when it is said "those who believed," in what? We say: The most truthful, best, and most reliable explanation is the explanation of whom? The explanation of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). And Gabriel asked him what is faith? He said: Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2610Sahih (Darussalam). Good. That is, they did righteous deeds. So what are the righteous deeds? Righteous deeds are everything that Allah has commanded. But it must include two things: The first: Sincerity for Allah (Mighty and Majestic). And the second: Following the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family). So if someone does a deed with showing off, is his deed righteous? Answer, my brothers. No. Why? Because showing off is shirk (associating partners with Allah). Allah the Exalted said in the Holy Hadith: Sahih Muslim 2985. Therefore, keeping worship secret is better than making it public, unless making it public includes a benefit. In that case, making it public is better; otherwise, the principle is that keeping worship secret is better, as long as it does not include a benefit. If it includes a benefit, like a man, for example, gives charity and displays his charity so that people will follow his example, this is a benefit. Therefore, Allah praised those who spend in secret and in public. Good. So faith, yes, righteous deeds must include sincerity, they must include following the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family). So whoever does a deed that is not in accordance with the command of Allah and His Messenger, it is rejected. No matter how much effort is made, no matter how soft the heart is, no matter how humble the heart is, no matter how much the eyes cry in the deed, if it is not in accordance with the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), it is rejected and not accepted, even if the person cries and his heart is humble and his heart softens, for this is a trial. If the deed is not in accordance with the command of Allah and His Messenger. And His saying (Mighty and Majestic): [Yunus 10:9]. That is, He guides them to righteous deeds by their faith, that is, because of faith, because the more a person's faith increases, the more he does righteous deeds and guidance. Therefore, many students ask now, some matters in knowledge are difficult for me and I forget. So what is the way to memorize knowledge and expand in it? What is the way? Faith. The more a person has faith in Allah and the stronger his faith in Allah is, the more guidance he has. Allah the Exalted said: [Muhammad 47:17]. [Yunus 10:9].
Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds - their Lord will guide them because of their faith
إن الذين آمنوا وعملوا الصالحات يهديهم ربهم بإيمانهمThe student: Amen.
