The questioner : This is a young man who says. The questioner says: He graduated from the Islamic University and studied the creed of the Salaf there for four years. Then he graduated, and after his graduation he displayed that he is Ash'ari. He began to deny the attribute of elevation and many of the attributes. Is his study at the university sufficient to be an argument against him, and is he judged to be an innovator?

The Shaykh : Yes. First: In this place, we ask Allah to guide our brother to the truth, to the methodology of the righteous Salaf, and to keep him away from these false methodologies. This is one thing. And it is our right to make du'a for him. Second: The argument has been established against this man if those who taught him are Salafis, meaning they follow the methodology of the Salaf, because we do not know, for we do not know who is teaching him the creed. But what is most likely is that those who are teaching him the creed are all on the methodology of the Salaf. In that case, the argument has been established against him. And my advice to this man is to fear Allah regarding himself, and to turn back from this false methodology which is contrary to the methodology of the righteous Salaf. And that he should not judge except by what the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and his Companions were upon.

The questioner : May Allah reward you with good.
