It is not permissible to single out the month of Rajab for visiting the grave of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and traveling to him for that purpose

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : They single out Rajab for visiting the grave of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and travel to him for this visit. Yet traveling to visit graves is not prescribed. Rather, it is either disliked or forbidden. As for making it an act of worship in a specific month, that is darkness upon darkness. The origin of traveling for the purpose of visiting to draw near to Allah is a religious innovation. Then singling that out for Rajab is another religious innovation. What does the believing person want from worship, my brothers? He wants to draw near to Allah (Mighty and Majestic). He wants to be with those upon whom Allah has bestowed His favor. That is what he wants. So if the worship is an innovation, know that it will not bring you any closer to Allah, but only distance. Every innovation, no matter how good it seems in the hearts of its practitioners, no matter how tender their hearts are toward it, no matter how their eyes weep for it, it will not bring them any closer to Allah, but only distance. And take heed, my brother, for Satan runs through the son of Adam as blood runs through the veins. So if he makes this worship seem good to you, weigh it with a just scale, O servant of Allah. Where are you going? Weigh it with a just scale. What is the scale? The Book and the Sunnah. Did the Book of Allah point to it? Then it is upon my eyes and head. Did the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) point to it? Then it is upon my eyes and head.
