The Virtue of Friday

The Shaykh : Friday is the best of the days of the week. Friday is the best of the days of the week. This is the day that many people have overlooked its virtue and reward, and its value and status. The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday. This is the day that the people of other religions desired. But Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, led them astray from it because of what they did with their own hands . May Allah guide us, and praise be to Allah for guiding us to it. So our festival, the festival of us Muslims, is the weekly festival, the festival of Friday. The Jews have Saturday, and the Christians have Sunday. Praise be to Allah who guided us; it is a blessing. This day is the best day on which the sun has risen among the days of the week. The best day on which the sun has risen among the days of the year is the Day of 'Arafah. These are preferences. Who preferred these times? Allah, Mighty and Majestic. It is not in our hands. And so it is with places. Let us turn to Friday.
