Is it permissible to describe the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) as the radiant lamp?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Is it permissible to describe the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) as the radiant lamp?

The Shaykh : Yes, Allah the Exalted said:
(45) O Prophet, indeed We have sent you as a witness and a bringer of good tidings and a warner. (46) And one who invites to Allah, by His permission, and an illuminating lamp. يا أيها النبي إنا أرسلناك شاهدا ومبشرا ونذيرا وداعيا إلى الله بإذنه وسراجا منيرا
[Al-Ahzab 33:45-46]
. So he (peace and blessings be upon him) is a radiant lamp. But it is not the physical light that is the removal of darkness. Rather, it is the spiritual light about which Allah the Exalted said:
O mankind, there has come to you a conclusive proof from your Lord, and We have sent down to you a clear light. يا أيها الناس قد جاءكم برهان من ربكم وأنزلنا إليكم نورا مبينا
[An-Nisa 4:174]
. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is light and a radiant lamp, but it is spiritual light, not physical light. So all the knowledge that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) brought is light. And he (peace and blessings be upon him) is a radiant lamp. Yes.
