Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: “And a caller to Allah by His permission and a illuminating lamp.”

The Shaykh :[Al-Ahzab 33:46] A caller to Allah means you call people to Allah (Mighty and Majestic) to His Shari'ah which leads to Him. For Allah the Exalted has established a path that leads to Him, and nothing leads to this path except the religion of Allah. So if you hold fast to this religion, it will lead you to Allah. For this reason, He said: [Al-Ahzab 33:46] that if a person holds fast to what the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) called to, he will reach Allah, His reward, His Paradise, and the vision of Him, until he attains the perfection of bliss. And in His saying: [Al-Ahzab 33:46] there is evidence for sincerity in calling to Allah (Mighty and Majestic). And that this is a description of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). Is this a description for every caller, or is it obligatory that it be a description for every caller? The second, not the first. The second, because some callers call to themselves, not to their Lord. They want their words to be the dominant authority over all words. They want people to see their status in knowledge and da'wah. If they are contradicted, even if it is with the truth, they swell up with anger and rage, and they wail against the people. The people contradicted the truth, and he does not know that the truth is in the opposite of what he said. Who is this person calling to? To himself. And the one who does not call to Allah (Mighty and Majestic) is the one who does not care about the contradiction that occurred, if that is the truth. And so you see the one who calls to Allah (Mighty and Majestic), if another person contradicts him based on evidence, he feels that the other person did not contradict him, but rather followed his path. For every caller and every one called only wants to reach what? The truth.
So if he contradicts me based on the evidence he has, it is not my right to be angry. Rather, I see that he is in agreement with me in what I called to, because I only call to the truth, and he sees that the truth is in the opposite of what I say. His account is with Allah if he is negligent in seeking the truth and not thorough in verification. So his matter is left to Allah. But as long as I know that he contradicted me not for passion, but following the guidance he has, it is not permissible for me to harbor anything in my heart against him.
And for this reason, you find the Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) differ, but this difference does not carry a difference of hearts. And you find the Imams from the beginning of this Ummah differ, and their hearts are at the best of love and affection. But the one who calls for other than Allah, and only calls to himself, will become angry if he is contradicted, even in the truth. So sincerity in calling to Allah is necessary.
And His saying:. So the permission of Allah the Exalted is divided, or it is divided. The permission of Allah the Exalted is divided into two categories: legislative permission and cosmic permission.
So what pertains to the Shari'ah is legislative permission, such as the saying of Allah the Exalted:[Yunus 10:59] and such as the saying of Allah the Exalted: [Ash-Shuraa 42:21]. That is, did He not permit it legislatively or cosmically? Legislatively, because He permitted it cosmically and it occurred.
As for cosmic permission, it is what pertains to creation and the universe. Like this verse, do we interpret it as cosmic or legislative?[Al-Ahzab 33:46] Which of the two permissions? Both, because the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) only calls according to the Shari'ah of Allah, and this is the legislative permission. And he actually called by the decree of Allah, and this is the cosmic permission. So he (peace and blessings be upon him) is a caller to Allah by His cosmic or legislative permission. Then, calling by legislative permission must have conditions:
The first condition: Sincerity. And know that if you call for other than sincerity, you are a failure, even if you succeed for a period of time. Failure is your companion, because Allah the Exalted does not accept anything that is not intended for His Face. So the one who calls to Allah for other than Allah is a failure, even if the world adorns itself for him for a day of time, his end is failure.
The second: The second condition: That his calling be according to the Islamic Shari'ah. And this is taken from his saying, from where?. Sincerity is from his saying: And its conformity to the Shari'ah is from his saying: . So it must be in conformity with the Shari'ah. And if it must be in conformity with the Shari'ah, then the calling must be preceded by knowledge of the Shari'ah. And on this basis, we add that knowledge is required, that the person be knowledgeable about what he calls to legislatively. So it is not permissible for a person to be a caller to Allah and not have knowledge, because this corrupts more than it fixes.
And likewise, the caller must have knowledge of the conditions of those he calls, so that he is aware of their situation. For this reason, So he informed him of their condition so that he would be prepared to meet them. If you were calling someone to something and you did not know anything about their condition, perhaps among them is the intelligent, brilliant, eloquent one who stands up to oppose the truth you are calling to, and you are defeated before him because you do not have a weapon or preparation to meet them. And perhaps you call them to something they have already done, but you do not know that they have done it. And perhaps you forbid them from something they are not doing, so your words become idle talk with no benefit. So the caller must have knowledge of the legal ruling and knowledge of the conditions of those he calls.
And it is also necessary for the caller to have a great degree of forbearance, patience, and insight so that his words are accepted. Because if he does not have forbearance, he will certainly find an opponent. For the caller to Allah must find one who opposes him. If he does not have broad forbearance that expands his chest, he will regret it and say that he was not accepted, and he will abandon calling to Allah. So the caller must have forbearance that expands his chest to meet people and what he fears may be directed at him of blame or reproach or debate, lest he fall into regret and abandon calling to Allah (Mighty and Majestic).
And one who invites to Allah, by His permission, and an illuminating lamp.
وداعيا الى الله بإذنه وسراجا منيراone who invites to Allah
داعيا إلى اللهone who invites to Allah
داعيا إلى اللهSo if he contradicts me based on the evidence he has, it is not my right to be angry. Rather, I see that he is in agreement with me in what I called to, because I only call to the truth, and he sees that the truth is in the opposite of what I say. His account is with Allah if he is negligent in seeking the truth and not thorough in verification. So his matter is left to Allah. But the one who calls for other than Allah, and only calls to himself, will become angry if he is contradicted, even in the truth. So sincerity in calling to Allah is necessary.
And His saying:
By His permission
بإذنهSo what pertains to the Shari'ah is legislative permission, such as the saying of Allah the Exalted:
Say, "Has Allah permitted you [to do so], or do you invent [something] about Allah?"
قُلْ آللَّهُ أَذِنَ لَكُمْ أَمْ عَلَى اللَّهِ تَفْتَرُونَwho have ordained for them a religion to which Allah has not consented
شرعوا لهم من الدين ما لم يأذن به اللهAs for cosmic permission, it is what pertains to creation and the universe. Like this verse, do we interpret it as cosmic or legislative?
And one who invites to Allah, by His permission
وداعيا الى الله بإذنهThe first condition: Sincerity. And know that if you call for other than sincerity, you are a failure, even if you succeed for a period of time. بإذنهAnd likewise, the caller must have knowledge of the conditions of those he calls, so that he is aware of their situation. For this reason,
When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) sent Mu'adh to Yemen, he said to him: You are coming to a people of the Book
لما بعث النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم معاذا إلى اليمن قال له : إنك تأتي قوما أهل كتابAnd it is also necessary for the caller to have a great degree of forbearance, patience, and insight so that his words are accepted.
