Exegesis of the saying of Allah the Exalted: "The Master of the Day of Judgment."

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh :
Sovereign of the Day of Recompense.
[Al-Fatihah 1:4]
The Day of Judgment means the Day of Retribution, which is the Day of Resurrection.
This Day every soul will be recompensed for what it earned. No injustice today! Indeed, Allah is swift in account.
[Ghafir 40:17]
On the Day of Judgment, Allah is its Master. And as for this world, answer me: Is Allah the Master of this world or not?
The student: He is its Master.

The Shaykh : Is Allah the Master of this world? Yes, He is the Master of this world and the Master of the Hereafter. But because in this world there are kings who dominate people as they wish, and in the Hereafter there is no king except Allah, Allah the Exalted said:
Sovereign of the Day of Recompense.
[Al-Fatihah 1:4]
And He is the Master of the Day of Judgment, and of days other than the Day of Judgment. But on the Day of Resurrection, Allah the Exalted says:
And warn them, [O Muhammad], of the Approaching Day, when hearts are at the throats, filled [with distress]. For the wrongdoers there will be no devoted friend and no intercessor [who is] obeyed.
[Ghafir 40:18]
until He said, yes, in another verse:
The Day they come forth nothing concerning them will be concealed from Allah. To whom belongs [all] sovereignty this Day
[Ghafir 40:16]
Allah the Mighty and Majestic says:
To whom belongs [all] sovereignty this Day?
[Ghafir 40:16]
and He answers Himself:
To Allah, the One, the Prevailing. (17) This Day every soul will be recompensed for what it earned. No injustice today! Indeed, Allah is swift in account.
[Ghafir 40:16-17]
The Master of the Day of Judgment. Which day? Brother, what does "Day of Judgment" mean?
The student: The Day of Resurrection.

The Shaykh : But here "judgment" means retribution, meaning the Day of Retribution, which is the Day of Resurrection. Rest now.
