Issue: When was the Night of the Ascension and the Night Journey?

The Shaykh : Second, when was this Ascension? First, in which month and which year before the Hijrah? There is nothing established on this matter. There are hadiths and athar, and the closest to being authentic is that it was in Rabi' al-Awwal, which is the month of the Prophet's mission, the month of his birth, and the month of his death, though there is disagreement regarding whether it is the month of his birth. In any case, the closest statement regarding the Ascension and the Night Journey is that it was in Rabi' al-Awwal, and it was three years before the Hijrah.
