The Shaykh : If the slaughtering of animals during the festival at the end of Ramadan is done as an act of drawing near to Allah (Mighty and Majestic), then that is forbidden, because animals are not slaughtered as an act of drawing near to Allah during the festival except during the festival of sacrifice. However, if this is a matter of hospitality and customs, I see nothing wrong with it, except if it leads to the stage of extravagance. If it leads to the stage of extravagance, boasting, and showing off, then it is prohibited from this perspective, due to the saying of Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He):
and eat and drink, but be not excessive. Indeed, He likes not those who commit excess. وكلوا واشربوا ولا تسرفوا إنه لا يحب المسرفين
