The story of Barirah and the food that was given to her in charity, from which the Messenger of Allah ate and considered it a gift to him.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : The second hadith:
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) entered upon his family one day, and they served him food, and he had seen the *barimah* on the fire.
, the *barimah* is a vessel of fired clay, and the pot on the *barimah* means that there is meat in it,
When they served the food without meat, he said to them, "Did I not see the *barimah* on the fire?" They said, "O Messenger of Allah, this is meat that was given in charity to Barirah."
meaning that you do not eat charity, because it is forbidden for the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) to eat charity, and it is forbidden for the People of the House to eat charity,
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) appointed his uncle al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib to oversee the charity. When he returned, he asked him
that is, from the Messenger,
to give him some of it. He said, "It is only the filth of people; it is not lawful for the People of Muhammad."

Therefore, it is forbidden, it is forbidden for anyone from the People of the Messenger to accept zakah. But if someone from the People of the Messenger has no money, does he die of hunger, or does he beg from people, saying, "So-and-so, give me"? The Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "If there is not, if there is not a fifth, then they take from the zakah the amount of their need, and they do not die of hunger or beg from people." And what he said is the correct position, because if carrion becomes lawful for a person in a state of dire necessity, then this good zakah, which was forbidden to the People of the Messenger because of their nobility, if they need it and find no alternative, then it becomes lawful for them and there is no harm.
Now, let us return to the hadith.
They said, "O Messenger of Allah, it is meat that was given in charity to Barirah." He said, "It is charity for her, and a gift for us."
A gift from whom? From Barirah. The Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) accepted gifts and gave thanks for them. The meat that was given in charity to Barirah, when it reached Barirah, became her property among her possessions, so it became lawful for the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) to eat from it.
