The evidence from the Sunnah for affirming the exaltation of Allah from His saying, His doing, and His approval (peace and blessings be upon him).

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : As for the indication from the Sunnah, the indication from the Sunnah came in all aspects of the Sunnah: saying, doing, and approval, meaning confirmation. That is, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) confirmed the exaltation of Allah the Exalted by his saying, his doing, and what else?
The student: By his approval.

The Shaykh : And by his approval, meaning his confirmation. An example of the saying is his saying (peace and blessings be upon him):
Don't you trust me though I am the truth worthy man of the One in the Heavens
Sahih al-Bukhari 4351
And like his saying in prostration:
Glory be to my Lord, the Most High
.
As for the action: He (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), when he supplicated, what did he do?
The student: He raised his hands.

The Shaykh : He raised his hands. O Lord, he did not say "O Lord" from here, he did not say it like this, he said "O Lord." And in the sermon at 'Arafah during the Farewell Pilgrimage, when he confirmed what he confirmed of the principles and foundations of the religion, he said to the Companions:
Have I not conveyed it? They said: Yes. Have I not conveyed it? They said: Yes. Have I not conveyed it? They said: Yes.
How many times? Three times, he confirmed it with them, and they said: Yes.
So he said: O Allah, be witness. He raised his finger to the sky and pointed it for the people. O Allah, be witness.
Meaning, regarding these, look at the difference. When he wanted to refer to the Lord, Mighty and Majestic, where did he point his finger? Yes, to the sky. And when he wanted to refer to the people?
The student: The earth.

The Shaykh : He turned it to the earth. So this is an affirmation of the exaltation of Allah the Exalted by the practical Sunnah, what is it?
As for the Sunnah of approval: It came in the hadith of the girl, the slave girl of Mu'awiyah ibn al-Hakam, when he wanted to free her, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) called for her and said to her:
Where is Allah ? She replied: In the heaven.
Sunan Abi Dawud 3282Sahih (Al-Albani)
. A slave girl who had not learned, a slave, a lowly one, he said to her:
Narrated Mu'awiyah b. al-Hakam al-Sulami: I said: Messenger of Allah, I have a slave girl whom I slapped. This grieved the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). I said to him: Should I not emancipate her? He said: Bring her to me. He said: Then I brought her. He asked: Where is Allah ? She replied: In the heaven. He said: Who am I ? She replied: You are the Messenger of Allah. He said: Emancipate her, she is a believer.
Sunan Abi Dawud 3282Sahih (Al-Albani)
Glory be to Allah! A slave girl who had not learned, a slave, knows where her Lord is, and those people do not know where Allah is, except that He is in every place, refuge with Allah, and in the filth and dirt and stench and places of menstruation and other things. Now pay attention, the Sunnah affirmed the exaltation of Allah in all aspects of the Sunnah, and they are?
The student: The verbal, the practical, and the approval.

The Shaykh : Yes, you have done well. The verbal, the practical, and the approval. Do you want a clearer explanation than that in the Book of Allah and in the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)? Good.
