The questioner : May Allah reward you. The questioner says: I work as a calligrapher in one of the cities, and some students come to me to do some of their specific work, knowing that what they request contains no religious violation, but they submit them to the university as if they were their own work. Is it permissible to cooperate with them in this?

The Shaykh : Did you hear the question? He asks if it is permissible to cooperate in this, as if he wants to apply the principle that whoever helps, help him, and whoever is in need of his brother, Allah will be in need of him. But this is good, except that it involves deception, and deception is forbidden by the Shari'ah. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Whoever deceives من غش
What is
He is not one of us فليس منا
And if a person helps another in deception, he is helping in what? In sin and aggression. So it is not permissible. If you know that this man is only asking you for this in order to submit it as if he were the one who did it, do not do it. If you do it, you have — do not make these sandals, no, do not put the sandals near your face — you have helped him in sin, so do not do it. Yes.
