I am an employee in one of the departments. Is it permissible for me to give charity for the time I do not work or am late, an amount greater than the time I actually work?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : May Allah reward you. He says he is an employee in one of the departments. He says, regarding the time he does not work or is late, he gives charity for it, an amount greater than the time he did not work. Is this action permissible?

The Shaykh : This action is not permissible. However, if a man repents to Allah and wants to give away what he earned in excess of his work, that is good and better than returning it to the institution where he works and saying, "I do not deserve this." But if he cannot do that, either because the institution will not accept the return of the money, or because he fears that doing so will lead to great harms, then there is no blame on him if he gives it as charity or allocates it to a mosque or public utilities. But this is only if he repents and does not return to it. As for remaining in this state, saying, "I will be late in arriving or early in leaving, and I will give charity for what exceeds my work," this is not permissible. It is obligatory for him to arrive at the time of attendance and leave at the time of departure. Yes.
